Australian water markets report 2015-16

The Australian water markets report 2015-16 presents detailed information on water markets for the 2015-16 financial year, including statistics on water access entitlement and water allocation trade, market performance (trade processing times), entitlements on issue and environmental water. \r\n\r\n National Overview (published June 2017) \r\n The National overview chapter presents information for all Australian water markets summarised across three main regions: the southern Murray-Darling Basin, the northern Murray-Darling Basin and the rest of Australia. \r\n\r\n Southern Murray-Darling Basin (published May 2017) \r\n The southern Murray-Darling Basin (sMDB) chapter presents information for the sMDB region which contains Australia's most significant water market. Around 89 per cent of Australian surface water allocation trade occurred in this area in 2015-16. \r\n\r\n Northern Murray-Darling Basin (published July 2017) \r\n The northern Murray-Darling Basin (nMDB) chapter presents information for the nMDB catchments in northern New South Wales and southern Queensland. Around 8 per cent of Australian surface water allocation trade occurred in the nMDB in 2015-16. \r\n\r\n Rest of Australia (published November 2017) \r\n The Rest of Australia chapter of the Australian Water Markets Report 2015-16 provides information on significant water markets and the development of other water markets in catchments outside the Murray-Darling Basin. It covers markets in southern Victoria, coastal New South Wales, Western Australia, north-eastern Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania. It describes water availability, water ownership and uses, and water market activity. \r\n\r\n Data and Methods (published August 2017) \r\n The data and methods appendix outlines the methods used to produce the Australian Water Markets Report 2015-16. It explains the data sources, cleaning applied and the final form of the data used. It also provides additional information regarding water market data issues.
