Future Land Use Map (Adopted 2021)

<p>The Future Land Use Map (FLUM) is a long-range planning tool adopted as part of the City of Charlottesville Comprehensive Plan on November 15, 2021. The FLUM provides guidance for future growth, redevelopment, housing, transportation, economic development, and community investment decisions.</p><p>The FLUM is <strong>not zoning</strong> and does not establish development rights or regulatory requirements. Future land use designations are used to inform planning and policy decisions and may support multiple zoning districts. Zoning regulations and permitted uses are governed by the City's Zoning Ordinance.</p><p>This dataset represents the adopted <a target='_blank' href='https://widget.charlottesville.org/gis/map_gallery/FutureLandUseMap_Adopted_2021.pdf' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'>2021 Future Land Use Map</a> and includes future land use designations for parcels and planning areas throughout the City.</p><p><strong>Purpose</strong><br />To provide public access to the adopted Future Land Use Map and support planning, development review, research, and community engagement.</p>
