*PIncidence rate ratios were obtained from six separate negative binomial regression models predicting annual number of ED visits for each type separately. All regression models adjusted for year, patient factors (age, gender, race/ethnicity, marital status, service connection, means test, homelessness, Charlson Index, number of annual primary care visits, number of annual telephone visits), and clinic factors (clinic type, metropolitan area, distance to VA medical center) in addition to clinic access and continuity measures.
