A method for producing a cellulosic paper stock (150) is described. The method comprises: i) providing (105) used textiles as the starting material (101)， the used textiles containing cellulose and non-cellulosic foreign substances (in particular synthetic plastics and / or metal oxides)， ii) at least partial depletion (120) of the non- cellulosic contaminants from the cellulose to provide a depleted feedstock (110)， and iii) forming (170) the cellulosic pulp (150) from the depleted feedstock (110). Furthermore， a cellulosic paper stock (150) made from recycled old textiles and the use of old textiles to provide a cellulosic paper stock (150) are described.
