ThisdocumentprovidesanoverviewoftheupdatedWorldHealthOrganizationrecommendationsforHIVclinicalmanagement,whichfocusonoptimizingantiretroviraltherapy,preventingverticaltransmission,andenhancingtuberculosispreventionamongindividualswithHIV.TheseupdatesareintendedtosupportglobalinitiativesaimedatendingAIDSasapublichealththreatby2030.Keychangesincludetheintroductionofnewantiretroviraldrugsandregimens,revisedpostnatalprophylaxisandbreastfeedingguidelinesformanaginginfantsatriskofverticaltransmission,andtheendorsementofshortertuberculosispreventivetreatmentstoimproveefficacyandadherence.TherecommendationsaredesignedtosimplifyandadvanceHIVcare,promoteequity,andcontributetoimprovedhealthoutcomesandqualityoflifeforindividualslivingwithHIV.TheupdatedguidancewillbeincorporatedintotheforthcomingrevisionoftheantiretroviraltherapychapterwithintheConsolidatedGuidelinesonHIVPrevention,Testing,Treatment,ServiceDelivery,andMonitoring:RecommendationsforaPublicHealthApproach.
