<strong>Methods:</strong><br>A metal frame square shaped quadrat with the size of 1m x 1m was used to measure the abundance of different plants species on the grassland. A quadrat was randomly placed on the grassland for 25 different areas at York University Keele campus around Stong Pond on September- 23 – 2014 and the date was collected at 4:10 pm to 4:40pm. The weather was hot and sunny with the temperature of 23 °C. At the beginning of this experiment the samples were taken at the border of the grassland, later the samples were taken by walking away from the last quadrat sample. Hence, the quadrat was placed randomly on the Stong Pond area for 25 times. The data was collected by counting the total abundance of plants inside the quadrat, the total number of different plant species based on their phenotypes, they were counted inside the quadrat, total coverage of all vegetation within plots and coverage of grasses were estimated and were measure in percentage by observing the quadrat and discussing with group members. The most abdundant plant species on the stong Pond area were Cirsium spp= A, Vicia spp=B, Solidago sempervirens =C, Erigeron strigosus=D, Common Milkweed=E and the grass was mostly observed to be fine-leaved grasses. <strong>Data:</strong><br><strong>Quadrats number:</strong> (n=25) Abundance of plants Total numbers of plants were counted inside the quadrat by separating their individual stems by hand. <strong>Number of Species:</strong> Total numbers of different plants species were observed inside the quadrat and they were differentiated using their phenotype. Species observed on the grassland: Cirsium spp= A, Vicia spp=B, Solidago sempervirens =C, Erigeron strigosus=D, Common Milkweed=E <strong>Vegetation coverage:</strong> Percentage of total cover of vegetation was estimated by observing the area cover by plants inside the quadrat (i.e. if half quadrat was cover with plant = 50% total cover of vegetation). <strong>Grass coverage</strong>: An estimated percentage of total cover of grass was observer by looking at the area cover by the grass inside the quadrat (i.e. if half quadrat was cover with grass = 50% total cover of grass).
