The minutes show the date, time and place of meetings, the members present the subjects discussed and the decisions made. Although the early Board was by its nature mainly concerned with small-pox, its supervision of public health rapidly expanded to take in other epidemic disease problems such as leprosy, tuberculosis and (from c.1900-1910) bubonic plague. Matters dealt with include the policy of the Coast Hospital, ship quarantine, sanitation, dairy supervision (including milk testing, water supplies), noxious trades, public nuisances, slaughtering, and diseased stock.Until 17 February 1931, the minutes are in manuscript form.
