This repository contains the Python code (Google Colab script) and documentary datasets used to produce the results, tables, and figures of the manuscript 'From hazard-based to impact-based warnings: Using social sensing to refine coastal flood thresholds in Maricá, RJ, Brazil' (submitted to Anthropocene Coasts, Springer Nature). The analysis integrates ERA5 reanalysis wave data (2022–2025) with a multi-source documentary database of storm surge notifications compiled from institutional alerts (Brazilian Navy, Maricá Civil Defense), local news portals (Lei Seca Maricá, Maricá Info), and citizen-generated social media content (Instagram profile 'Rodrigo Waves').
