Oxford Nanopore sequencing of V1-V9 region in urolithin C-treated fecal slurries from healthy individuals

The goal of this experiment was to determine the prevalence and relative abundance of urolithin C-metabolizing gut bacteria in either DMSO- or urolithin C-treated fecal slurries from 10 healthy individuals. Samples were incubated with DMSO or urolithin C (100 uM) for 48 h before genomic DNA extraction using the ZymoBIOMICS DNA miniprep kit. The full-length 16S rRNA gene (V1-V9) was amplified from genomic DNA and sequenced using the Oxford Nanopore MinION device.
