RNA based transcriptomic fusion genes analysis of Colloid Goitre using Next Generation Sequencing

Thyroid disease is the most common endocrine disease worldwide. Total Thyroidectomy is the most common endocrine surgery performed worldwide. Colloid goiter is one of the most common benign histological subtypes requiring surgery for pressure symptoms, and cosmesis. The etiology remains elusive. There is a paucity of data on molecular profiling and gene rearrangements in benign thyroid diseases. Hence, RNA-based gene-fusion analysis of colloid goiter will pave the way for a better understanding at the molecular level.
