**Overview**
The data package provides county-level data and rankings for measures that define the population health status and for a set factors with great influence on population health. The measures used to establish counties ranks are related to length and quality of life and to health behavior, clinical care, socioeconomic and environmental factors.

**Description**
University of Wisconsin, Population Health Institute, is providing a county-level assessment for the population health and for those factors that have great influence on health. The counties health rankings are based on counties and county equivalents (ranked places). Any entity that has its own FIPS county code was included in the rankings. Giving the fact that the ranks are calculated for counties inside a state the main advantage for this type of measures is the fact that they offer a benchmark at state level. In addition to the benchmark they offer, the fact that the ranks are based on critical measures for population health (the health outcomes) and for the factors that influence the health (the health determinants) chosen by their impact (weight) on health, the stakeholders can easily identify those factors that need to be managed in order to improve the population health. Another advantage of this data package for the user the rank of each measure using quartiles. Because of this the quartiles along with the ranks offer benchmarks for the overall status of population health and for each category of factors that influence health (health services, behavioral factors, socio-economic factors and environmental factors) and also for the measures based on which the ranks are calculated. The main measures set, used in the ranking of counties, is accompanied by a set a of additional measures.
