NRS-21748 | Dr Bailey's Patient files [Royal Commission into the former Chelmsford Private Hospital and Mental Health Services in New South Wales]

This series comprises the patient files of Dr Bailey during the period of his practice at Macquarie Street and Chelmsford Private Hospital. The files are alphabetical by surname and are colour coded with an alphanumeric account code that is linked with the financial accounts. The files vary with the amount of information held. The documents that are contained in the files can range from referral letters from General Practitioners (GP) to Dr Bailey and responding correspondence from Dr Bailey to the GP. Most files include Psychometric Test Appraisals from Dr Evan Davies, copies of medication scripts, biochemistry results and hand written notes from Dr Bailey. Some files will contain Workers' Compensation Claims with correspondence from acting solicitors and an accompanying psychiatric report by Dr. Bailey. There are also files which have referrals from solicitors with records of interviews between police and patients. There are a few personal letters from patients to Dr Bailey also included in the files.The file cover front and back were also used to record drugs prescribed and dated, hand written notes written by Dr Bailey on the condition and progress of treatment on the patient. Some files also had sketches or drawings of patients physiology where a physical aliment may have been the reason for treatment or a diagram sketched to illustrate an issue. Some have highly decorative doodles from geometric shapes, faces or other objects.
