Thermal forcing inputs for the MALI-SORRM simulations
收藏资源简介:
Description This dataset contains the thermal forcing (TF) input files in netCDF format used for δT calibration and as forcing for MPAS-Albany Land Ice (MALI; Hoffman et al., 2018) control and projection simulations of the Antarctic Ice Sheet from 2000-2100 described within Shafer et al. (submitted). The TF fields within these files were initially generated by E3SMv2.1-SORRM (Comeau et al., 2025), an E3SM configuration which includes ice-shelf cavities, and were subsequently interpolated and averaged in time (1 year). The vertical dimension includes 30 equally-spaced levels with 60 m thickness, and a horizontal resolution of 4-20km, consistent with the horizontal MALI ice-sheet mesh. TF is generated for three different ensemble members ("701", "751", and "801") as well as the ensemble-mean ("ensmean"). Our calibration and control simulations use TF from E3SMv2.1-SORRM historical (1970-1999) and our projections use TF combined from E3SMv2.1-SORRM historical (2000-2015) and E3SMv2.1-SORRM SSP3-7.0 (2015-2100).
