To test the effect of plant host filtering, a controlled greenhouse trial was conducted by inoculating 44 white clover genotypes (20 varieties) with a diverse inoculum of 10 Rhizobium leguminosarum symbiovar trifolii (Rlt) strains. The differences in Rlt nodule communities between plant hosts were evaluated using high throughput amplicon sequencing. Raw read files contain pooled amplicon sequences of Rlt genes rpoB, recA, nodA and nodD.
