Helicopter Magnetic Data

These helicopter electromagnetic data were flown over a portion of Everglades National Park and surrounding areas in south Florida 9-14 December 1994. Two versions of the data are provided: the original dataset and the corrected dataset.

This project addressed the question of determining the location of the fresh-water/salt-water interface (FWSWI) in the coastal regions of southern Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, synoptic monitoring of changes in water quality associated with changes in water management practices, and looking for geophysical evidence of subsurface discharges to Florida Bay. This project provided basic information needed to create ground-water models and test various restoration strategies and their impact on ground-water quality.
