This study uses RNA-seq to define the Mycobacterium smegmatis prrAB regulon. To achieve this, we grew M. smegmatis wild-type, prrAB deletion, and prrAB complementation strains in Middlebrook 7H9 medium to mid-logarithmic phase and isolated total RNA. Each strain was analyzed in biologic triplicate. This data will be used to gain insight into the genes regulated by the essential prrAB two-component system in Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
