Agricultural resources survey and agricultural regionalization are the basic and comprehensive long-term work of agricultural development. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, as an important task of national long-term research, this kind of work were successively carried out three times in the national large-scale agricultural regionalization work, and data of agricultural resources and regionalization was obtained covering more than 2108 counties (administrative divisions according to the early 80s) including a huge set of maps, statistical data and reports. This dataset contains the most important and complete and systematic information about agricultural resources and its regionalization, which is vital and of significant role for mornitoring and ratioinal utilization of agricultural resources, agricultural regional planning, formulation of regional agricultural development policies, adjustment of agricultural structure and measurement, promotion of agricultural productivity and so on.
