NRS-9772 | Post War Reconstruction Programme files - Divisional Office copies

These files were established in 1943/44 following a request by the New South Wales Reconstruction Advisory Committee for the preparation by Councils of a programme of works which might be executed during the five years immediately following the cessation of hostilities. This request was forwarded to Councils through the Local Government Department. In response to a request by the Department of Main Roads, a copy of each Council's programme was forwarded to this Department for examination and report in so far as the Council's road proposals were concerned. This series consists of three files which relate to Ashfield (10.5311), Canterbury (78.5311) and Lane Cove (254.5311).(7/7266 part). 1 box (part). Note: This description is extracted from Concise Guide to the State Archives of New South Wales, 3rd Edition 2000.
