This dataset and code package accompanies the manuscript titled "The Carbon Emissions of Waste Paper Tableware Recycling from the Impact of COVID-19 on Escalated Eating Out Demand in Taiwan: A Global Supply Chain Perspective." It provides data and computational resources used to evaluate the carbon footprint of Taiwan’s waste paper tableware (WPT) recycling sector using a Multi-Regional Input-Output (MRIO) approach. Data Content The following datasets are included for the years 2018 to 2021, structured as 4915×1 vectors in accordance with the Eora26 MRIO sector-country classification: Y_WPT (Final Demand): Final demand of Taiwan’s WPT recycling (thousand USD) WPTCE (Embodied Carbon Emissions): Total embodied CO₂ emissions from Taiwan's WPT recycling (kt CO₂) Output: Total output of the Taiwan's WPT recycling (thousand USD) Direct Emission: Direct carbon emissions from the Taiwan WPT (kt CO₂) Indirect Emission: Indirect carbon emissions from upstream (kt CO₂) Code Content The MATLAB scripts provided enable full transparency and reproducibility of the analytical process. The code covers: Construction and application of the technical coefficients matrix (A) and Leontief inverse matrix (L) Calculation of total embodied CO₂ emissions from Taiwan's WPT recycling using the EE-MRIO model Direct and indirect emission separation for Taiwan’s WPT sector Purpose and Usage This dataset supports robust carbon accounting of the WPT recycling system and provides a replicable template for researchers applying MRIO modeling to other sectors or regions.
