Kinetics of the Gut Microbiota Response to Eimeria maxima Infection in Broiler Chickens

The present study aimed to characterize in detail the kinetics of the gut microbiota response to E. maxima infection. We collected ileal and cecal contents from non-infected mock control chickens and E. maxima infected chickens at 3, 5, 7, 10 and 14 days post-infection (dpi) and utilized 16S rRNA gene sequencing technique to understand the dynamic changes of the diversity of ileum and cecal bacterial microbiota comprehensively.
