Global Clinical Trial Demand by Country — CRLN Demand Series (2026-08)

A country-level snapshot of active clinical-trial demand, derived from ClinicalTrials.gov and published openly so that clinical-research workforce-capacity questions can be argued from a shared, citable number. Two series, which must not be summed: recruiting trials per country (44 countries, 74,550 country-trial listings, as of 2026-08-22), and daily registry update activity (61 countries, 163 country-days, 5,652 observed updates, 2026-08-26 to 2026-08-30). The first is a stock, the second a flow. Stated limitations: ClinicalTrials.gov over-represents trials with a US regulatory nexus and under-represents those registered only in EU CTIS, ISRCTN, CTRI, ChiCTR or ANZCTR, so a low count means low presence in this registry rather than low trial activity. A country is counted if a trial lists a location there, which says nothing about site count or participant volume. Multi-country trials are counted once per country, so the column sums to more than the number of distinct trials. No personal data. These are counts of registered studies. The supply side — trained workforce per country — is deliberately excluded: too few assessed learners currently carry a country for any cohort to clear a minimum size of 5, and a supply figure derived from a handful of people would be worse than none.
