National Coral Reef Monitoring Program: Carbonate budget data collected in the Atlantic Ocean

This collection includes census based carbonate budget data that are collected in coral reef habitats in the Atlantic Ocean. These habitats include sites around Puerto Rico, Florida, and the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary. All surveys (based on Perry et al 2012) are conducted as part of NOAA’s ongoing National Coral Reef Monitoring Program (NCRMP). Six transect surveys (10m each) are conducted at each site to quantify benthic cover, macrobioerosion, and microbioerosion. In addition, ten parrotfish surveys are conducted at each site to account for parrotfish erosion rates.
