VPRS 995 Contracts, Quantity Surveyor's Copies

The Public Works Department (VA 669) had wide-ranging responsibilities for all public works and buildings, including construction, maintenance and fitting out of these buildings. Other major responsibilities included roads and bridges, ports and harbours, local government and water supply.This series consists of the Schedules of Quantities attached as part of the specifications of contracts for the Quantity Surveyor. The Schedules included in this series are those for the Stables at Government House, Harbour Works at Belfast, for a 50 ton Crane at South Wharf and for the Alfred Graving Dock Jetty. Other units have the Schedules for the Industrial School at Royal Park and for Powder magazines at the Salt Water (Maribyrnong) River.Schedules are fully set out nominating materials to be used in the construction of these facilities with the expected cost of each of these materials. Details are included of tender dates.VPRS 995/P1 Unit 1 was formerly registered as Unit 29 of VPRS 979 Contract Books and VPRS 995/P2 Unit 1 was formerly registered as Unit 1 of VPRS 1000 Contract Book Powder Magazines. These records were reserialised in 2001 as part of the ARAD Project.VPRS 995 was previously registered with the title Contract Book - Industrial Schools.
