Demonstrating the universal utility of a novel assembly method by the assembly of multiple plastomes (plastids and mitochondria) from plants, fungi and animals. This includes assembly of mitochondria within vertebrates to examine the utility of mitochondrial genomes in genus-level phylogenetics.
