mRNA pooled from all life stages and insects collected from diverse locations were used in the sequencing of the expressed sequences of Lygus lineolaris. Roche 454 (GS FLX -Titanium) sequences were first assembled using the DNASTAR NGen v2.3. The resulting Seqman project file (.sqd file) was used to iterative assemble Illumina Genome Analyzer II sequences and singleton 454 sequences. Sequence reads with less than 200 nucleotides were removed from the final assembly.
