Species diversity of Selenium-Containing Soil Invertebrates

This study aimed to investigate the impact of selenium (Se) content on soil invertebrate communities in the vicinity of selenium-mining sites. Soil samples were collected from sites with varying Se concentrations, and the composition of soil invertebrates was analyzed using COI gene sequencing. Our results demonstrate significant differences in the composition of soil invertebrate communities across sites with varying Se concentrations. Specifically, we observed a significant decrease in biodiversity and an increase in Se-tolerant species with increasing Se content in the soil.
