Bacterial profile of periodontitis patients vs. periodontally healthy controls in the Western Cape

The specific aim of this investigation was to characterize the sub-gingival bacterial microbiota of periodontal pockets in periodontitis patients in the Western Cape, South Africa. This was conducted by comparing the bacterial microbiome of five patients with periodontitis with five periodontally healthy controls to determine if there were any significant differences.
