Photosynthesis is a pivotal biological process that converts solar energy into utilizable chemical energy, crucial for the growth and development of plants. Understanding the genetic and biochemical factors that influence photosynthetic efficiency and biomass accumulation can provide valuable insights for improving crop yield and stress resistance. Our study examined the agronomic traits, physiological and biochemical characteristics, and transcriptomic profiles of three tobacco genotypes(K326, Y87 and ZY157) during the vigorous growth phase. Our study provides a detailed understanding of the genetic basis for improved photosynthetic capacity and biomass accumulation, highlighting potential targets for enhancing crop productivity and resilience.
