Whole-genome sequencing of Mycobacterium massiliense in hospitalized patients. Mycobacteriaceae

Mycobacterium abscessus subsp. massiliense is one of the most frequent isolates of rapidly growing mycobacteria. In this study, we isolated M. massiliense from respiratory aspirations of ventilator-dependent non-cystic fibrosis patients with progressive neurodegenerative diseases in long-term care wards and analyzed the mechanism of acquisition of M. massiliense among these patients.
