Students were given membership in the Visiting International Students Association sponsored by the rotary. In Southern California, there are 186 foreign students of which 52 are in the Valley area. The students are taken into the various homes there they live for short periods of time. Fred Lavelle, governor of District 162 Rotary International. The scroll was later presented to Lavelle at the Shadow Mountain Club Saturday night marking the conclusion of the three day annual Rotary conference in Palm Springs".; Supplementary material continues: "Carl Munsen, Covina Realtor and Rotarian of the city who sparkplucked the original Visa student sponsored by a Rotary Club in that organization's district 162 is shown conversing with three Visa students.
