Here we examined microbial communities of 44 wild Verreaux’s sifakas, taken in Kirindy Forest in Madagascar in April/May 2016/2017 and September/October 2016/2017. DNA was extracted (MO BIO PowerSoil DNA Isolation Kit) and the marker genes (16S/18S) were amplified for microbial community profiling. The amplicons were sequenced with an Illumina MiSeq sequencer using the MiSeq Reagent Kit v3.
