VPRS 16019 Annual Statements of Accounts

This series consisted of an incomplete set of Annual Statements of Accounts for the period covered. Annual Statements of Accounts from 1903-1978 were individually printed and filed in a manila folder. Subsequent years were bound individually.Annual Statements of Accounts formed a part of the municipal accounting system. Annual Statements of Accounts were prepared by the council at the end of each financial year in accordance with Local Government Acts and Municipal Accounting Regulations. They were created for the purpose of showing a summary of all council's transactions as well as the financial position of the Municipality. After being signed by the Municipal Clerk, all accounts were presented to the Auditor for examination and report. Finally, they were examined and settled at the Council meeting.
