Dunlop meadow population dynamics

In this project our goal was to estimate bacterial in situ taxon-level growth and death from an agricultural and successional soil to better understand the population dynamics of microbial communities in relation to land use. 16S V4 amplicons were generated from incubated soil microcosm samples that were destructively sampled in a time series. To each sample, an internal standard was added during DNA extraction so that the sequence reads could be normalized and taxon abundances compared through time.
