We infected primmorphs, cultured in vitro, with Janthinobacterium sp. strain, SLB01 isolated from diseased sponge Lubomirskia baicalensis and then isolated this strain PLB02 from the cell culture of the primmorphs. The violet-pigmented Janthinobacterium sp. strain PLB02 was isolated on diluted (1/10) LB agar plates from infected primmorphs. The sponge was collected from the Lake Baikal in the Olkhon Gate Strait (53.039167 N, 106.960278 E) at a depth of 10 m (water temperature 3-4 C)
