Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Beech Drive, Thornton, Leicestershire, March 2023

This collection consists of site images, GIS data, and spreadsheet data from an archaeological evaluation at land off Beech Drive, Thornton, Leicestershire. The works were conducted by Cotswold Archaeology in March 2023. The results of the fieldwork confirmed and expanded upon those of a preceding programme of geophysical survey, revealing the remains of a north-east/south-west aligned ridge and furrow field system corresponding with geophysical anomalies. A total of 39 furrows were recorded, distributed across nine of the trenches, and a small assemblage of post-medieval pottery and ceramic building material was recovered from the features.
