Spiking of isolated CA1 cells while a rat runs along one track of a 3-arm maze. Only periods of running towards the port are preserved. Sampling frequency is 25 Hz. In the following, T = 1776 time steps and N = 403 neurons.lapID = A T x 2 matrix.1st column = trial number, 2nd column = position along the track, in mm.<br>X = A T x N matrix of binned spike counts<br>Xfilt = A T x N matrix of smoothed spiking. Smoothing was achieved by applying a 1 Hz low-pass filter (8th order Butterworth applied bidirectionally prior to sub-selecting periods of running).This data set was generated for a mid-semester assessment for an undergraduate Computational Neuroscience course at the Claremont Colleges.
