L. acetotolerans was isolated using cereal fermentation samples (Chinese liquor fermentations, vinegar fermentations, and sour dough products). This species is difficult to cultivate due to its extremely slow growth. We used modified Man Rogosa Sharpe (MRS) medium for the isolation.
