资源简介:
Solid organ transplant patients face an elevated risk of bacterial infections, particularly in procedures involving the liver or pancreas, where gut microbiome bacteria may infiltrate bile ducts, leading to biofilm formation on implanted catheters. This can contribute to acute cholangitis, a potentially life-threatening condition (1,2,3,4). Therefore, understanding bacteria behaviour in bile duct catheter biofilm formation is crucial.Prior studies show Enterococci and Enterobacteriaceae are common in cholangitis patients (5). This study explores MS-STENT-08-E-001 and MS-STENT-01-M-001 isolates from bilioenteric catheters in solid organ transplant patients. Through whole genome sequencing, MS-STENT-08-E-001 was identified as Enterococcus lactis, and MS-STENT-01-M-001 as Klebsiella pneumoniae. Klebsiella pneumoniae's genome revealed biofilm-associated genes fimH, bcsABZC_AP010953, and crl as described elsewhere (6). Understanding the survival mechanisms of these pathogens is crucial for identifying potential treatment options.
