Mining Association Membership Lists – Supporting Data for Mining Industry Networks and Diffusion of Innovations in the Battery Minerals Sector

This dataset contains cleaned membership lists of key national and international mining associations, used to construct the network analyzed in the study "Mining Industry Networks and Diffusion of Innovations in the Battery Minerals Sector." The data underpin a network science-based analysis of how mining companies are institutionally connected through industry associations, with a particular focus on the diffusion of voluntary sustainability initiatives (VSIs) relevant to battery mineral supply chains. Each CSV file corresponds to a specific industry association and includes the list of affiliated companies, based on public membership information manually collected from association websites between 2023 and 2024. The dataset covers associations across multiple regions, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ghana, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Africa, and international organizations. This data was used to build a network of associations and member companies, which was analyzed using metrics to investigate innovation diffusion pathways in the mining sector.
