Anelloviridae sp. Genome sequencing and assembly

In this work, plasma samples from 50 blood donors, 25 women and 25 men, aged between 20 and 62 years, have been used to describe the viruses present in the samples. The main objectives of this work are to characterise the virome diversity of these samples and to see if there is any association between sex and/or age of the donors. For this purpose, the plasma obtained after centrifugation of whole blood has been subjected to high-speed centrifugation to concentrate the viral fraction, treatment with nucleases to remove free nucleic acids and subsequent extraction of the viral DNA present in the samples. These nucleic acids were randomly amplified and sequenced using NextSeq technology. The results obtained reveal the presence of a wide diversity of viruses of the Anelloviridae family in the samples, belonging to the genera Alphatorquevirus, Betatorquevirus and Gammatorquevirus.
