Between Hope and Disaffection: The Chilean Constitution-Making Process and the Intermediation Crisis

This study examines the gap between society, social movements, and political institutions through the Chilean Constitutional Convention (2021-2022). The article presents evidence supporting the argument that delegates' participation in this institutional body, along with the broader social unrest context, highlights an intermediation crisis. This approach integrates data from an original dataset of delegates' trajectories, the Social Longitudinal Study of Chile (ELSOC-COES), and interviews conducted with Convention delegates and candidates.
