RNA-seq analysis of mouse hippocampal gene expression changes after Gulf War toxicant exposure

Differentially expressed genes may provide insight into the underlying mechanisms of Gulf War Illness involved in neurodegeneration. Six different control and six different Gulf War model mice were examined. C57Bl/6 male mice at 12 weeks of age received two weeks (M-F) of daily subcutaneous injections of a mixture resulting in 2.5 mg/kg pyridostigmine bromide, 12.5 mg/kg chlorpyrifos, and 7.5 mg/kg DEET. Hippocampi were collected at the end of the exposure, RNA was extracted and examined by RNA-Seq.
