资源简介:
Caenorhabditis nigoni is a male-female (gonochoristic) nematode species whose sibling species, Caenorhabditis briggsae, is hermaphroditic yet partially interfertile with C. nigoni (Woodruff et al. [2010], PubMed 20823339). Thus, the C. nigoni-C. briggsae species pair is a crucial model for the evolution of different sexual reproductive modes in animals. A reference genome for the C. nigoni strain JU1422 was published by Yin et al. (2018; PubMed 29302007). However, modern genetic analysis of C. nigoni (e.g., through CRISPR mutagenesis) requires two polymorphic strains with two distinct genome sequences. To provide a second C. nigoni strain with its own genome, this data archive provides a draft genome assembly and protein-coding gene predictions for the alternative C. nigoni strain CP168.
