Salminus brasiliensis (dorado) transcriptome, fSalBra1

Salminus brasiliensis (golden dorado) is a large, predatory characiform freshwater fish found in central and east-central South America. Despite having Salminus in its name, it is not related to salmon species, nor to dorado saltwater fish. This sample was collected from an adult male in entrance of the Rio de la Plata, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, coordinated by Lisa Komoroske, and used to create at high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genomes Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Olivier Fedrigo and Erich D. Jarvis, with funding support from Komoroske.
