Proteomic profiling of potential E6AP targets in hepatoma cancer cells. Homo sapiens

E3 ubiquitin ligase E6AP is overexpressed in hepatoma cancer. However, the effect of E6AP on hepatoma cancer cells is not fully elucidated. To explore the role of E6AP in HCC, we performed proteomic analysis with E6AP knockout and WT HepG2 cells. We identified 1102 proteins were significantly regulated upon knockout of E6AP. Pathway analysis confirmed the known phenotypic effect of E6AP. The regulation of the top targets were confirmed with immunoblot. Overall, results from our investigation provide potential biological pathways and target gene controlled by E6AP in hepatoma cancer cells.
