Enables U6 snRNA binding activity. Involved in RNA processing; regulation of mRNA splicing, via spliceosome; and spermatogenesis. Acts upstream of or within germ cell proliferation; negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; and positive regulation of G1/S transition of mitotic cell cycle. Located in nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including central nervous system; gonad; liver; sensory organ; and spleen. Orthologous to human LARP7 (La ribonucleoprotein 7, transcriptional regulator).
