OpenEarthMap comprises 2.2 million image chips extracted from 5000 aerial and satellite images, covering 97 regions across 44 countries in 6 continents, with manually annotated 8-class land cover labels and a ground sampling distance ranging from 0.25 to 0.5 meters. Semantic segmentation models trained on OpenEarthMap can generalize globally, serving as off-the-shelf models for various applications. OpenEarthMap facilitates research including but not limited to semantic segmentation and domain adaptation.
