This project uses whole genome re-sequencing and simple sequence repeat (SSR) bioinformatics search algorithms to develop a genome-wide set of microsatellite loci for bats in the genus Lasiurus. These markers greatly extend the genetic resources available for North American tree bats, and should be invaluable to conservation biologists studying environmental impacts on bat populations
