From the Introduction: "IFLA Trends is a biennial publication which started under my predecessor, Margreet Wijnstroom, at the beginning of the '80s. Because IFLA's activities are so varied, it is impossible to comment here on all of the events and progranmes undertaken within the past two years. I have therefore selected some of the major items from the Annual Reports.
