Honey bee virome and Varroa mite virome in Taiwan

This study explores the virome of honey bees (Apis mellifera) and Varroa mites (Varroa destructor) in Taiwan, marking the first such analysis in the region. By employing next-generation sequencing with two distinct library preparation methods, poly-A capture and rRNA depletion, this research aims to deepen understanding of the viral interactions between honey bees and their ectoparasites. The findings contribute to the broader field of honey bee health, offering a basis for future research on viral impacts and potential mitigation strategies.
